Bewitched (100 minutes)
My alternative title would be: Twitchy Woman

SUPER MOVIE FAN'S RECOMMENDATION: 2, WAIT AND RENT

Who is in it?:
NICOLE KIDMAN, WILL FERRELL, SHIRLEY MACLAINE, MICHAEL CAINE

What is it about?
After his movie career starts to fade, Jack Wyatt (WILL FERRELL) considers coming back to television in a remake of Bewitched, but only if he gets to pick the Samantha character. He meets Isabel (NICOLE KIDMAN) and loves her twitch and maybe even more. Interestingly, unknown to Jack, Isabel is really a witch.

When and Where does this movie take place?
L.A.

Why see it? This is a cute premise with strong acting—particularly in the supporting roles. It has some funny parts and I like how KIDMAN plays off the over-the-top FERRELL character. But it really is forgettable. This is a good rental—I'd wait and see this later, Wayne.

How about the kids?
PG-13 for some language, including sex and drug references, and partial nudity. Most parents would see this as not suitable for kids. Desperate Housewives kind of dialogue and inappropriateness

Video Pick of the Week
Escape from New York is a 1981 JOHN CARPENTER movie with KURT RUSSELL that is worth seeing in the weeks following Batman Begins. RUSSELL is a criminal set loose on Manhattan Island--which has been turned into a maximum-security prison. The President's plane has crashed and he is somewhere on the island and in great risk. The tie-in to Batman is the issues around the decay of Gotham/Mew York City.

Next week, we'll review, Steven Spielberg's, War of the Worlds. TOM CRUISE is all over talking about it and everything else as well.
