JUDE LAW, JULIA ROBERTS, NATALIE PORTMAN, CLIVE OWEN, MICHAEL HALEY

What is it about?
MIKE NICHOLS puts this play on the big screen and this is a story where you see the characters over a three-year period as they co-mingle from accidental meetings through intimate moments amongst them all. The story is told in the highs and lows across the years with the middle "boring stuff" cut out, leaving us only the most intense relationship scenes, at the beginning and endings of some rather permissive stuff.

When and Where does this movie take place?
This is 12 scenes over three years in London.

Why see it? Some might say this movie is further evidence that the "pretty generation" of rich YUPPIES has lost all sense of values. They could be right. I see this as a criticism of relationships not based on caring. These folks are all liars and deceivers. They don't love. So they use one another and enjoy every minute of it, but they are not happy one bit. An adult story worth seeing.

How about the kids?
Rated "R" for language and nudity. NO KIDS ALLOWED.

Video Pick of the Week
Timed for the release of Ocean's Twelve is a 1966 classic, How to Steal a Million with AUDREY HEPBURN and PETER O'TOOLE. First time out on DVD, this is a great. She wants to recover a phony famous painting her father sold to a Paris museum before it is discovered as a hoax.

Next week, we'll review, Ocean's Twelve the sequel to Eleven, with a newest of three heists in mind and the high tech wizardry and "sting" approach to stealthery
