Fever Pitch (98 minutes)
My alternative title would be: Double-Play

SUPER MOVIE FAN'S RECOMMENDATION: 3, SEE IT

Who is in it?:
DREW BARRYMORE and JIMMY FALLON

What is it about?
Spring training is a rite of passage for some people, an adult spring break of sorts. Does it match meeting the future in-laws? Well, depending on your answer to that question, you'll enjoy one character more than the other in Fever Pitch. This is a romantic comedy with the backdrop of the Boston Red Sox pennant chase. He's a high school teacher, she's a whiz in business, but baseball might be the one thing that can get in their way.

When and Where does this movie take place?
Hey, Boston, baby.

Why see it? The author of Fever Pitch is NICK HORNBY who wrote High Fidelity and About a Boy, both intelligent and well made-movies. This movie is a wonderful portrait of characters you probably know in real life, or maybe you are them. Believe it or not, the FERRELY brother (Dumb and Dumber) direct this very smartly. Both FALLON and BARRYMORE are wonderful.

How about the kids?
PG-13 for some rude language, humor and suggestiveness. Not for young children.

Video Pick of the Week
Hotel Rwanda is superb, Wayne. Read my full review at wrka.com. A disturbing and amazing story of one man's bravery. We were asleep during this episode, Wayne. Great acting and a very important story.

Next week, we'll review, Sahara, a treasure hunt with MATHEW MCCONAUGHEY and PENELPE CRUZ...number one this week at the box office.

John Fischetti can be heard Friday's on the Wayne Perkey show on Oldies 103, WRKA and can be reached at fischettij@uncw.edu
