SUPER MOVIE FAN'S RECOMMENDATION: 2, WAIT AND RENT

Who is in it?:
ADAM SANDLER, CHRIS ROCK, BURT REYNOLDS, JAMES CROMWELL, COURTNEY COX, NELLY, CLORIS LEACHMAN

What is it about?
In 1974, BURT REYNOLDS and EDDIE ALBERT made a movie about a group of inmates who find their groove again taking on the prison guards in football. This is a remake of that movie with ADAM SANDLER in the lead role as the quarterback of the inmates. SANDLER is Paul, a man arrested for drunk driving who meets up with his former coach, REYNOLDS. With some help from CHRIS ROCK'S character, they form a team to take on the big-boy Texas prison guards.

When and Where does this movie take place?
Texas

Why see it? This is a perfectly predictable and lame movie, Wayne. It has a few moments of humor, but it really is a poor excuse for a Hollywood film. Totally predictable and useless. Why remake this one? Don't have a clue.

How about the kids?
Rated "PG-13" for crude humor, violence and language. Close to an "R" in my book. Not for little kids.

Video Pick of the Week
East of Eden, the 1955 movie with JAMES DEAN, based on the Steinbeck novel is out on DVD this week, Wayne. A tale of two brothers who fight to keep a family farm going.

Next week, we'll review, Cinderella Man with RUSSELL CROWE as James Braddock, who starts to box as a way to get his family some food and some hope in the depression. RENEE ZELLWEGER is his wife. Based on Braddock's true story.
